In April 2025, the Osaka–Kansai World Expo officially opened, marking a significant milestone in global cultural and business exchange. On this occasion, Maruichi Kokan Co., Ltd. (MKK) hosted the Maruichi Global Forum in Osaka – a special event bringing together more than 700 employees from member companies inside and outside Japan.
The Forum, organized by Maruichi Steel Tube Group, focused on three main objectives:
SUNSCO and the Journey of Global Integration
At SUNSCO, among the 510 employees, in addition to the management team, qualified employees were given the chance to participate in a special lottery held during the company’s annual Gala Dinner (July 2024).
As a result, 148 employees were selected and divided into 13 groups, taking turns to attend the Maruichi Global Forum on a weekly basis in Osaka, Japan, from April 21, 2025, to September 20, 2025.
This is not only an opportunity to learn and experience international corporate culture, but also a journey that inspires innovation, strengthens integration, and fosters powerful motivation for SUNSCO’s collective growth.
Visit to Sakai Plant
The first highlight of the program was the visit to the Sakai Plant – one of the core production bases of the Maruichi Group.
Here, SUNSCO employees witnessed first-hand the modern steel manufacturing process, strict quality management systems, and the unique Japanese business philosophy – the very foundations that have shaped the Maruichi Kokan brand worldwide.
They also had the chance to attend a special presentation titled “Journey Through Time,” which provided insights into Maruichi’s historical milestones, its path of growth, and a deeper understanding of MARUICHI Vision 2030 and the Group’s future directions.
The Forum also served as a platform for member companies to share their key initiatives, development directions, and ongoing as well as upcoming projects.
This served as a bridge that allowed SUNSCO members to clearly feel the connection between the Group’s traditions, its present, and its future—nurturing a sense of pride and a strong desire for growth as part of the Maruichi family.
EXPO 2025 KANSAI, OSAKA – THE STRONG PRESENCE OF MARUICHI STEEL
During the two-day visit to the World Expo 2025, SUNSCO employees not only immersed themselves in the vibrant international atmosphere but also witnessed landmark structures that featured direct contributions from MARUICHI products.
Structural steel pipes supplied by MKK were used in the construction of the roof of the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion – one of the most prominent and iconic pavilions of the Expo.
Lamp posts and technical columns bearing the MKK logo were installed in various areas across the EXPO grounds. These structures not only served the essential function of infrastructure lighting but also integrated advanced technical systems, helping to create a smart, comfortable, and future-oriented space.
In addition, conduit pipes supplied by MKK played a silent yet vital role in delivering light and energy to every corner of the exhibition site, contributing to the seamless experience of this world-class event.

Through this journey, SUNSCO employees were able to gain a deeper appreciation of the role and influence of the Maruichi Group in large-scale global projects—a profound source of pride in being part of an international corporation that continues to create lasting value for society.
In addition, participants had the chance to visit Japan’s cultural and historical landmarks such as Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, the Sakai Denshokan Museum, and the headquarters of the Maruichi Group.
The Maruichi Global Forum and EXPO 2025 were not just a journey, but a strategic investment in people—a testament to MARUICHI Group’s consistent commitment. For 148 SUNSCO employees, it was an opportunity to grow, to gain greater confidence, and to take pride in the company’s products, while broadening their global perspective through international exchange.

WORDS OF GRATITUDE TO THE MANAGEMENT
As the EXPO 2025 journey came to a close, the 148 SUNSCO members felt even more grateful for the care, support, and opportunities that the Management has continuously provided to the team.
Representatives from each group organized a gathering to express their heartfelt appreciation to the Management. The meeting was not only a sincere gesture of gratitude but also an opportunity for employees to connect, strengthen bonds, and gain renewed motivation—empowering every SUNSCO member to work with confidence and passion, while joining hands to build a strong, united team ready to integrate and grow in the future.
2025年4月に開幕した大阪・関西万博に合わせ、丸一鋼管グループが国内外の丸一鋼管グループに在籍する社員700名を大阪に集め、「丸一グローバル・フォーラム」を実施しています。MARUICHI 2030 ビジョンの理解を深め、グローバルなコミュニケーションを強化し、Maruichi DE&Iの方向性を全世界の従業員と共有することを目的としています。
SUNSCOとグローバル統合の歩み
SUNSCOでは、社内の全従業員510名のうち、会社の管理職の他、条件を満たした従業員については、2024年7月の社員旅行懇親会 Gala Dinner にて抽選を行いました。
その結果、選抜された148名の社員が13グループに分かれ、2025年4月21日から9月20日まで、週替わりで日本・大阪にて開催された「グローバル・フォーラム」へ参加しました。
この取り組みは、国際的なビジネス文化の学びと交流の機会であると同時に、
SUNSCOの革新精神とグローバルマインドを育む原動力となる貴重な体験でもありました。
堺工場見学
今回の旅の最初のハイライトは、マルイチグループの主要工場の一つである堺工場の見学でした。
ここでは、SUNSCOの社員は、丸一鋼管というブランドを世界的に築き上げた中核となる価値である、最新鋭の鋼管製造プロセス、厳格な品質管理システム、そして日本独自の経営理念を直接目の当たりにしました。
さらに、「タイムスリップ」の特別なプレゼンテーションにも受け、マルイチの歴史における重要な節目、そしてMARUICHI 2030のビジョンやグループの将来的な方向性について、より深く理解する機会を得ました。
フォーラムでは、各グループ会社が自社の注目すべき活動や、これまで及び現在進行中のプロジェクト、今後の発展に向けた方向性について共有する場ともなりました。
これこそが、SUNSCOのメンバーにとって、丸一グループの「過去・現在・未来」をつなぐ絆を実感できる貴重な機会となり、マルイチファミリーの一員であることへの誇りと、更なる成長への意欲を育む原動力となりました。
2025年大阪・関西万博におけるマルイチの堅固な鉄の存在感
万博EXPO2025の2日間の見学期間中、SUNSCOの社員は、国際色豊かな活気あふれる雰囲気に触れるだけでなく、マルイチの製品が直接貢献した建築物を目の当たりにすることができました。
MKKが製造した構造用鋼管は、大阪ヘルスケアパビリオンの屋根部分の施工に使用されました。これは、今回の博覧会で特に目立ち、象徴的なパビリオンの一つです。
丸一鋼管のロゴが刻まれた照明ポールやテクニカル設備ポールは、EXPO会場内のさまざまなエリアに設置されており、インフラ照明の役割を果たすだけでなく、最新の技術機器を統合し、スマートで快適、そして未来的な空間づくりに貢献しています。
さらに、丸一鋼管が供給する電線管も、目立たない存在ながら光とエネルギーを会場の隅々まで届ける重要な役割を担っており、世界規模のイベントにふさわしい空間体験の完成に寄与しています。
